Paolo Valladolid - viola
Gary Rouzer - cello

This is the third release and first studio recording from violist Valladolid and cellist Rouzer. Paolo and Gary never employ electronics, preferring their acoustic instruments and sometimes preparations of plastic, wood, or metal. The photo above displays the preparations used on this studio recording.

Influences may include Helmut Lachenmann, Polly Bradfield, Derek Bailey, and Three Stars Peppercorn Saison (brewed in Washington DC).

Recorded May 9, 2015 Alexandria VA and released February 2016.

Paolo and Gary first played together in a large tunnel that runs under highway 395 in Alexandria Virginia. This outdoor session became their debut album "Directions for Viola and Cello" and was released on Confront Recordings (CCS41) in March 2015. Their second album "Viola Cello Room" (VCR) is a live recording and was released in August 2015 on Bandcamp.
